Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun) Day 4

Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun) Day 4 - Well my day didn't go to badly yesterday. Ended up eating 1753 calories and had a calorie deficit of 764 calories. I've had the nibbles the past few days and hope to nick that in the butt today while I fast. I just need to chant to myself "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this" LOL! Maybe that will help!

We ended up going out to dinner and I had steak, a baked potato and veggies. This is my go to dinner when I eat out. Many... salads are not really "low calorie or low fat" with the dressings they pile on and sometimes I'm just not in the mood for a salad. I am pretty much a meat and potatoes kind of girl if you hadn't figured that out already! A typical steak dinner out is under 600 calories (make sure to get top sirloin as this is this is the leaner steak) which is excellent considering most meals out are well over 1000 calories! I get sour cream only for my baked potato and no butter. Not to mention it is super filling!

Today is a bit challenging. Morgan has a softball game and needs to be there at 5:15pm. Considering I eat one meal today, it may be a long day before I get to eat dinner unless I run up and get a salad before her game. Not sure how I will deal with that just yet!

Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun) Day 3

Kick Butt Week 2 (Rerun) Day 3: Well yesterday didn't go as well as I would have liked. Ended up with just under 2000 calories that I ate. So I ended up with a 574 calorie deficit yesterday. Not where I should be! I was 425 calories short yesterday of my 1000 calorie deficit goal each day.

I am hoping for a better day today. So far not too bad. I am at 400 calories for the day and will stick with a light lunch! I will try to check in later today.

Update: I am at about 1000 calories for the day. Went to Yogurt City this afternoon with the kids but did very well and my yogurt only added up to about 200 calories! So far so good!

Kick But Week 3 (Rerun) Day 2

April 25, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun) Day 2: I did pretty well yesterday. Had just over 1700 calories and just under a 900 calorie deficit! I had the nibbles when I got home last night but managed to not eat more then 100 calories and finally went upstairs so I wouldn't be tempted any longer!

Today I had a great start with my parfait. I did take Marcus to lunch since his sister is out and about on a fun day with a friend. But I am under 1000 calories for the day.

I hope to make homemade Philly Cheesesteaks for dinner tonight. I will use roast beef from the deli which is both lean and low calories. That should be a yummy end to my day!

Now if I can just stay out of the candy today.....

April 24, 2015 Weigh In

I maintained!!! No gain , no loss! That was my goal, but with what I ate over the weekend and on Tuesday, I didn't think I would do it. My hard work has paid off the last couple of days. Yay!!!!

My Favorite Breakfast!

My Favorite Breakfast! - I love making my own "parfaits" at home. This colorful and delicious breakfast has light yogurt (90 calories, just choose your favorite), frozen strawberries thawed & 2 tbsp of granola. I used almond vanilla granola! I have discovered in the bulk nut isle of the grocery store there are lots of different granolas to choose from. The possibilities are endless! My breakfast was only 213 calories!

Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun): Day 1

April 24, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3 (Rerun): Day 1 - Ok, so I've maintained the last couple weeks. That is all great and all, but I'm ready to get out of the 180's! So I am starting my Kick Butt Week up once again! I am redoing week 3, because my last kick butt week 3, I did not lose. So I'm giving it another try!

I am very proud of how I did yesterday fasting. Stuck right at 500 calories! Which is awesome because it helped me maintain this past week! I am so determined to get to 179.9 by next Friday! So, I'm going to have to kick butt because I have 2.4 pounds to get there. So staying focused and on track will be important! So far so good today!

Such A Busy Week!!

April 22, 2015 - What a week I have had. Well I weighed in Tuesday to see my damage from the weekend and I was up 4 pounds! I pretty much allowed myself to enjoy Friday, Saturday and Sunday and actually didn't track what I ate until Monday. Knowing of course my estimates for the weekend were just that...estimates! Because I know I couldn't remember everything I ate.

I had a somewhat decent fast day on Monday so I am sure that helped me drop a little before I weighed in o...n Tuesday morning. Well, we ended up having a family fun day out yesterday and I didn't eat very well at all! Had a great time, but didn't really behave myself!

I know my body and know that most of this is water gain but will do my best to finish the week with some of that weight dropping! So today & tomorrow I will be very strict about my calories and make sure I follow the plan!

Friday I will give my Kick Butt Week 3 another try. My last Kick Butt Week 3 I am not even going to count as I didn't lose any weight at all. So if at first you don't succeed, try try again!

I am more determined then ever to get into the 170's. As you can see, plans don't always work the way you want them to, but the key is getting back up, brushing yourself off and trying again and again and again until you do succeed.

One thing I learned over the years is, I can't give up! As long as I keep trying it will happen. It's the giving up that puts me back to where I started and caused me to gain the weight back. But if I keep trying as many times as it takes, I will eventually get there! So onward I go to finish my journey!

A Little Inspiration!

April 20, 2015 - I wanted to share some inspiring photos with you.

I've been heavy all my life. I was 200 pounds by time I graduated high school. I have battled my weight for MANY years. I was 289 pounds in 2000 when I finally lost over 80 pounds by 2003. I reached 199 pounds very briefly by the year 2003 but gained weight back between getting married and having kids. Here are some pictures of my transformation over the years.

I just want you all to know that the hard work is SO WORTH IT! I feel the best I have ever felt in my life and the rewards of feeling and looking good are truly inspirational and keeps me moving forward. I truly feel that I have gotten this weight off once and for all and have no plans of having it come back to visit ever again. Mark my words! I now just have 20 to 30 pounds to go to reach my final goal (not sure if I'm going to stick with 160 or 150 yet, won't know 'til I get there and see how I feel)

So please don't give up, keep trying and if you work hard, you will get there, too!

Me just this past month at 182 pounds and in a size 12 dress!!

Janaury 2012 - 261 pounds and ready to get this weight off once and for all!

February 14, 2010 - Very pregnant with my son Marcus. Reached 309 pounds fully pregnant with my son. I never wanted to see 300 pounds, pregnant or not!

Me at my sisters wedding in September of 1994. Not sure what I weighed. At least in the 280's if not more.

Another pic from the 1994 wedding.

April 17th Weigh In

No gain no loss this week. Still at 182.3!  I'm happy with that considering the week I've had! My stress level is much better today!!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 6

April 15, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3: Day 6 - This kick butt week is not going so well. I had 2300 calories yesterday! I took Morgan shopping yesterday to pick up some things we both needed for the wedding. So we enjoyed some Auntie Anne's pretzels and a wonderful dinner at Texas Roadhouse! I actually think I did pretty well calorie wise considering I splurged a bit yesterday afternoon. I still ended up with a 230 calorie deficit!

This is going to be a tough week to finish strong but I will do ...my best. I have my spring retreat tomorrow and I am determined to stick to fasting tomorrow. It shouldn't be too difficult as I will be busy setting up and doing things for the retreat. I just need to get through today without going crazy on my calories!

I will skip next week and continue my Kick Butt Week 4 the following week. Between the wedding and being at the retreat, I'm not going to pressure myself to lose weight. I'm going to just try to maintain next week. This week, I'm still hoping for a loss come Friday morning!

The good news is, my band is no longer having issues with information being off between my phone and the computer. I suspect there must have been some type of update because my calorie burn seems to be much more accurate then it has ever been! Which is great news!

Update 1:
  •  I am having a stressful day! Just ate 200 calories in chocolate! This wedding couldn't have been at a worse time. Right in the middle of my retreat. I have to go to Morgan's Spring Concert tonight for school and I still have to cut Marcus' and Brad's hair tonight AND pack supplies for the retreat, pack my suit case and everyone elses and make sure everyone has everything they need for the wedding on Saturday before I start my retreat tomorrow!. There is just waaaay to much to do today. Just came back from Morgan getting her hair done. Now I am headed home to get some laundry done so we can have clothes for the weekend, feed the kids then off to the concert. I feel like I'm going to be up until midnight today! AAAAAHHHHH! Ok, now I feel better!

Gettin' Outside Again With My Fids!

April 14, 2015 - Took yet another nice walk yesterday. This time with my little Coqui! Only problem with taking her to a very full park with kids practicing sports, I get stopped a lot with lots of questions! I'm guessing I sitll mananged to get in a 20 minute walk. LOL!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 5

April 14, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3: Day 5 - I had a pretty good fast day yesterday. Stayed just over 700 calories. A bit over what I'm supposed to have, but considering I had a cold and didn't feel very good, I'm ok with it. I burned just under 2600 calories so that works for me. I ended up with about an 1800 calorie deficit. I took a walk while at Morgan's softball practice to help get my steps in. Photos follow shortly.

I weighed in this morning to have no gain or no loss! Again, I'm good with that. I feel a drop will come at the end of the week! It's going to be a CRAZY weekend! I have my scrapbook retreat this weekend from Thurs-Sunday that I host. Kathleen Whitcomb Barrett & Heather Hoxsie Seeley will be joining me! I will also see Robin Hewitt. She works at the hotel I am hosting this at and she is also the person that helps set this up for me every year! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you this weekend!

On top of the retreat I have a wedding to go to on Saturday that is two hours away. It's for my BIL. So I will have to leave my retreat, attend the wedding and then come back to my retreat. Makes me tired just thinking about it! LOL!

I am going to still fast Thursday in hopes of getting that drop Friday morning. My retreat is at a local hotel, so I will still be able to weigh in come Friday morning! I really want to get as close to the 170's as I can before this weekend hits. Not sure if I will make 179.9, but a pound or two loss would be great considering the first two days of this week didn't go as planned!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 4

April 13, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3: Day 4 - Yesterday went extremely well and it was a gorgeous day outside. So as you know I took a nice walk outside yesterday, got my 10k steps in and kept my calories in check! Today I fast! I have a horrible cold that has been forming over the last couple of days. Well I think it's at it's worst today. So I picked up a fruit and yogurt parfait so I wouldn't go without breakfast with this cold.

I am hoping to have a successful fast day today, even with this stinkin' cold. Lots to do at work, so that should keep me busy!

A Nice Spring Walk

April 12, 2015 - Had a beautiful walk with my Savannah girl tonight. Her first outdoor walk this spring. I love taking my birds for outdoor walks. Great incentive and a fun way to exercise!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 3

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 3 - OMG, I had another not so great day yesterday! I did fine until the afternoon hit and I lost my will power. I just had the wicked nibbles when I got home and had one too many extra snacks before I went out on my date with hubby.

I did have popcorn at the movie, but I planned on that and enjoyed a burger for dinner. If it wasn't for my snacking, it wouldn't have been too bad, but because I snacked on a few things in between meals I ended up eating al...most 2700 calories yesterday! Less then 200 calories over my actual calorie burn at least, but not what I had planned on doing.

But now I'm going to have to get focused and work hard if I want to reach my goal! I got to snap out of this and get with it. I will try my best today!

So far so good this morning!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 2

April 11, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 3: Day 2 - So my day didn't go exactly as planned yesterday! I met Morgan at softball practice and was invited to go out to dinner with some friends at Green Peppers which was great. I had about 2400 calories yesterday!

I then went over to my friends house and we chatted until 9:30pm last night. It was great and I had a great time and so did the kids. They hung out with their kids while my friend and I chatted. BUT, I didn't get to exercise last night. So I on...ly burned about 2400 calories yesterday. The good news is, I didn't go over what I burned.

I have done pretty well today and have had about 700 calories for the day so far. I hope to keep the calories down and get some exercise in! Brad and I may go on a date tonight so I will try to eat good while we are out but at the same time enjoy myself with my hubby! wink emoticon Now if we do go out, I got to figure out how to get my exercise in tonight! If it's nice enough, I will convince Brad to go for a walk perhaps!

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 1

Kick Butt Week 3: Day 1 - I am ready to start yet another kick a$$ week this week! Who's with me?? I will continue to post daily in hopes of reaching my goal to get to 179.9! It helps me stay accountable and work hard!

I decided to allow myself some extra calories today because I behaved myself so well all week and didn't get into any Easter candy laying around the house! That is a huge feet in itself! So I had a couple pieces of chocolate this morning.

I thought I would all...ow myself a good splurge for lunch. I can really see how my new habits have really began to stick! In the past, if I thought splurge when I went to McDonalds I would order a double quarter pound with cheese value meal and super size it! gasp emoticon But not today! I thought of many things I could splurge on and I ended up with my usual McChicken, Diet Coke and Parfait. My splurge was a small fry! LOL! But it goes to show my mind set really has changed and what I consider a "splurge" these days.

I think a lot more about what I eat and don't allow my eyes to be bigger then my stomach. I can eat a lot less now and be full and that feels really good!

With my extra calories today I will be sure to exercise when I get home tonight. I want to start off my 3rd Kick A$$ week on the right foot!

Down 1.6 Pounds For The Week!

April 10, 2015 - Down 1.6 pounds for the week! Very happy with that considering I really enjoyed some goodies on Easter.

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 7

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 7 - I did much better yesterday! Had just under 1400 calories yesterday and had just under a 1400 calorie deficit! Which helped me with my higher calorie day from the day before!

I have danced to Zumba music for 45 minutes a day all week to help keep up the calorie burn. My phone and computer data is still off on my band. But I've been going by my phone for my daily info and that seems to be working ok. If it's off once it's on the computer, I'm not goin...g to worry about it unless it impacts me weight loss negatively. Not sure why there has been a discrepancy. But I will work with it for now! I just want to get this weight off! LOL!

Weighed in this morning and was up .7 pounds. But I think that is normal fluctuations, so I am not concerned about it. Hopeful for a decent drop tomorrow though! Fingers crossed and hoping to have a great fast day today!

Kick But Week 2: Day 6

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 6 - Well I didn't do so great in the eating department yesterday. I ended up having 2200 calories yesterday!  But I did have a 600 calorie deficit! It's hard not to nibble on leftovers while I'm home on my day off and if I don't keep busy. LOL!

I am hopeful to do better today and make up the difference that I need for a deficit today. I did go outside and rollerblade with Morgan yesterday. We went up to Cornwall School yesterday afternoon an...d rollerbladed at the basketball court. It's so nice to play with the kids for a change instead of just sitting on the side and watching.

We were playing tag and I hit a stone and fell on my shoulder. So I'm a bit soar this morning. But I am hopeful it will feel better in a day or two.
Onward to another day!

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 5

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 5 - Decided to hop on the scale this morning and was down .3 pounds! Woohoo! Wasn't expecting a loss just yet!

Now I will stay strong and carry on for a bigger loss on Friday! Feelin' super motivated right now.
I danced to Zumba last night which gave me a calorie burn of over 2700 calories. So glad the extra effort paid off.

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 4

April 6, 2015 - Kick Butt Week 2: Day 4 - Ok, so I woke up this morning super hungry! This tends to happen when I have a big calorie day the day before. What to do? It's my fast day. I am allowed to split my calories between breakfast and dinner so I opted for a fruit and yogurt parfait & a diet coke to get me through the morning! Feeling pretty satisfied this morning! I've given up on giving up my diet coke. It's my only vice and as long as I drink plenty of water, I'm not going to worry about it!

Will drink plenty of water today to keep the nibbles away! How did everyone's Easter go yesterday? We had a great day and enjoyed lots of family time!

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 3

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 3 - Well today was one high calorie day. I had about 4200 calories!! Nibbled on candy a bit, not that you could tell, right? I will burn about 3000 calories today as it was a busy day! So that does help! We had a great day either way.

On a positive note, the Easter bunny brought my daughter rollerblades and I purchased used one's a couple weeks ago on eBay. So we are going to rollerblade together when the weather gets nicer! We practiced in the house today. We had a great time! Yet another fun way to exercise. It will also help me with going back to ice skating in the fall!

Tomorrow I fast!

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 2

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 2 - So I decided I will continue this kick butt attitude until I hit the 170's!

I did well this morning and had my breakfast sandwich and diet coke this morning. Can you tell I am a creature of habit yet? LOL! Had 7 Cheez It's with my son this morning, too! I have made sure to measur...e or count everything that goes in my mouth. I haven't been so diligent about that the two weeks I was having trouble dropping. Last week I was spot on with it and I lost. So I will be sure to do that this week, too! When I lose my motivation I sometimes slack but eventually realize I got to do it to succeed!

It's easy to eat a lot more then you think you are when you are actually not measuring and just guessing what you ate! So measuring and counting is so important for successful weight loss.
You may think you don't have time, but it really doesn't take that long and it's important. If it's important, it's worth doing! Today I will stick to my normal busy day lunch and try for a light dinner. I will try to check in again this afternoon!

Oh, in case you are wondering, I keep forgetting to mention my water intake. I always manage to get at least 8 glasses in per day. Once I've had my soda for the day, I go to water and am hydrating all day long! On occasion I slack, but most of the time I'm pretty good about it. I am a big water drinker, so it's not too difficult for me!

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 1

Kick Butt Week 2: Day 1 - Even though I was busy today I wanted to make sure to post to get my second kick a$$ week 2 off to a good start!

I ate more then I planned today. I allowed myself a little bit more candy today since I've done so well all week. Had a breakfast sandwich and diet coke for breakfast, McChicken, parfait and diet coke for lunch and went to American Flatbread for dinner.

I ended up with 2050 calories today. Thanks to my nibbles. But should still end up wit...h about an 800 calorie deficit.

Tomorrow I would like to keep the calories in check to help with Easter Sunday.

Down 2.2 Pounds!

April 3, 2015 - Down 2.2 pounds for the week! Woohoo! That's pretty good considering my cheat day I had last Friday! Yay! Now to keep going to get to the 170's! Here's to kick ass week #2!

Kick Butt Week Day 6

Kick Butt Week Day 6 - Had a bit more calories last night then I should have. Ended up with just under 2000 calories yesterday but still had a deficit of close to 900. I enjoyed roasted chicken, broccoli & a baguette for dinner.
Weighed in this morning and my weight did not change. Not a bad thing, but I'm hoping for a good drop tomorrow morning after I fast today! I'm going to try really hard to make this fast day count!
Onto another busy day!

Update 1:
  • Not a single nibble today! Yay! Did take my mom after her doctor appointment to McDonalds for a quick lunch. I wanted to get her out. I did have a diet coke while I sat with her. I know, I'm addicted! LOL!
Update 2:
  • Grabbed a salad and parfait for dinner tonight. It's the only thing I've eatin all day! Aside from cheating and having a diet coke, I'd say I had a good day

Kick Butt Week Day 5

Kick Butt Week Day 5 - I did well last night. I had such a busy day yesterday that I burned over 3100 calories and did over 12K steps and that is without extra exercise!

We went to Two Brothers Tavern for Taco Tuesday and I had two chicken tacos last night. I ate 1700 calories yesterday. So for as busy as I was, I think I did great!

I came back to work after dinner and worked on cleaning up my shop after a long day of bunny making. Today, it's more bunnies to keep up with demand!

I weighed in this morning at was 185.8. So down another .7 pounds. I'm dropping, so this is great news! Down .3 pounds from last Friday. I really, really hope I am under 185 by Friday! My fingers and toes are crossed!

Had a diet coke and breakfast sandwich once again for breakfast this morning. Will keep track of those calories and keep them in check today!

Update 1:
  • Stopped and got a quick lunch again today. Diet coke, McChicken and Parfait once again. I know, I know, I had two sodas again today. I promise to have none tomorrow! Had a small sampling of chocolate, but it didn't amount to much calorie wise!

Kick Butt Week Day 4

Kick Butt Week Day 4 - Had a great time with Morgan yesterday afternoon. We went to Panera Bread for dinner and I had a great BBQ Chicken Salad! Only problem is, Morgan had my favorite pastry for dessert...a bear claw! gasp emoticon! So I ended up nibbling on some of it. Ended at about 900 calories yesterday. That is 400 over what I'm supposed to eat on my fast day. But considering the busy day I had, not too bad. Especially since I still ended up with a 1900 calorie deficit!...
Today is supposed to be my day off, but since Easter is Sunday, I will be working today and knee deep in chocolate once again! I started my morning with my Diet Coke and a breakfast sandwich.
Good news...I am down 1.5 pounds and am at 186.5. So maybe my downward trend will begin and I can get under 185!! Fingers crossed! I will continue to work hard to keep those calories in check and make sure I meet my 10K steps everyday!

Update 1 -
  • Got a quick bite for lunch. A McChicken, Parfait and Diet Soda! Yes, I've had 2 sodas today. That will be my limit! I can use the cafeine during these busy days! LOL! Will go back to no more then one tomorrow. Been good with the nibbles once again today and staying out of the chocolate. Yay!

Kick Butt Week Day 3

Kick Butt Week Day 3 - I've been super busy already this morning at work! I am fasting today so no breakfast this morning. But I made some Maple Walnut Brittle this morning and had to try a piece to make sure it came out good. But I kept it small once again!

I did well yesterday and had Moe's just as I planned. I did weigh in to check my weight this morning and I was up .2 pounds. I am baffled but will soldier on and hope that the number starts to drop soon. I get a bit stre...ssed right before holidays with keeping the shelves stocked and making chocolate non stop. So maybe that has something to do with it. I'm not giving up, that is certain!

I will be very busy today so I think that will help me stay on track today for fasting. I am running out of chocolate so I'm headed to Williston this afternoon to get more from another chocolatier who is always willing to help me out! So I will go up and do a mother/daughter afternoon with Morgan in Williston. We will run some errands and enjoy dinner out. I will stick with my fasting and get a salad somewhere.

I will check in later if I can! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Kick Butt Week Day 2

Kick Butt Week Day 2 - Well I woke up feeling much better this morning! Got up first thing and made a batch of peanut brittle for the shop. Nibbled on a small piece to make sure it was made correct. 12.5 grams is a whopping 60 calories! Yikes! Needless to say, I didn't eat anymore then that! LOL!
I stopped and got a diet coke and a fruit and yogurt parfait on the way into work this morning. I've also drank 16oz of water before I left the house! So far so good! I did weigh myself and I was up 2 more pounds. I really wasn't surprised. I know it was from my cheat day on Friday. But I'm not going to sweat it, because I know it will drop off quickly as long as I keep doing what I'm doing!

Off to work on chocolate all day long!

Update 1 -
  • Super busy today! Had a quick bowl of cereal with a banana on top. Didn't eat until almost 3pm!
Update 2 -
  • Going to Moe's for dinner tonight. Should end up with just over 1200 calories today! No nibbling once again! Yay!

Kick Butt Week Day 1

Kick Butt Week Day 1 - I got up this morning with a positive attitude but a bit tired as Bella was not feeling well last night. We are taking her to the vet at noon today. But, I still had a good morning. Started out with some brazil nuts and I've already had 3 8oz glasses of water! No diet coke this morning! That has become a habit of mine the last few months!

Yesterday I ended up eating just under 3700 calories and burning just under 2700 calories. So I went over by 1000 c...alories. Not too bad considering I had pizza for lunch and pasta with cream sauce for dinner! I only ate 1/3 of my pasta as it was filling! Another thing I have gotten better at is stopping when I'm full!

I went to the grocery store last night and armed myself with some good snacks to try and avoid nibbling on chocolate this week as I will be knee deep in the stuff all week as Easter approaches.
Right now I am feeling good and hopeful for a VERY good week! I will check in here again later to let you know how the rest of my day goes.

Update 1 -
  • Getting ready to eat my lunch. Oatmeal is on my quick agenda today. Busy day making chocolate! And nope, no chocolate ate today! Did have to try my two cream centers I made, but it was a small taste test.
Update 2 -
  •  Ok, gave in and had a diet coke. But I needed it! LOL! Busy day at work. Good news is, I haven't nibbled one bit! Yay! Better diet coke then chocolate, right? My goal is to have no more then one diet coke per day and none on fast days.
Update 3 -
  • Started to not feel very good this afternoon, muscle aches and chills. So when I got home I got dinner ready for everybody and changed the bird paper and all that good stuff and jogged while I did it so I could get my 10000 steps in today. So I have just managed to get my 10000 steps in and now I'm finally able to relax and lie down. Didn't eat a whole lot when I got home. I wasn't very hungry so I only had a little less than 1100 calories today, but I have a feeling I have some type of bug. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow but at least today was a good day when it comes to trying to lose weight

Is this The Best I Can Do?

March 27, 2015 - I'm asking myself that very question right at this moment. I think there are many of us who need some motivation right now. I have been stuck around the mid 180's since January 30th! That is two months of fluctuating and not moving below 185! Wow, that is way too long. It's time for me to step up and work harder to get to the 170's!

I know the past two weeks have not been my best. I did have what seemed to be good deficits, but I have been nibbling and wonder if I haven't be...en tracking as well as I should have. I have just about 2 and half months before I go on my first summer trip. I would really like to hit 175 before summer gets into full swing. Because once summer is here, I just plan to maintain to get through summer, because summer is my worst time of year!

I had my cheat day today! I will report my total calories tomorrow! LOL! But tomorrow I'm going to get focused and kick some a$$!

So I really want to work hard this week and see a good drop on that scale at the end of this week!

Up This Week! :(

March 27, 2015 - Well, I'm up I think a half a pound. It's been an interesting week. I've been surrounded by chocolate all week as I am making a ton of chocolate bunnies. I've had the nibbles all week and you can probably guess what I've nibbled on. I've either grossly under estimated my calories this week or I'm at a plateau! Because according to my data, I should have had a loss, even with my nibbling! This is a busy time at my shop and it can be hard to focus on other things. I might take a day off today and enjoy some of my favorite things. Maybe that will help me get passed the nibbles!

The Bodymedia It Is!

March 20, 2015 - Decided I wanted to just stick with my Bodymedia Band. So the Jawbone is going back!

Down .2 Pounds This Week

March 20, 2015 - Down .2 pounds this week. :/  I knew I didn't have a great week. At least it's a loss. Got to work my butt off to catch up to reach my goal!!

Decided To Go With The Bodymedia Band Once Again But....

March 17, 2015 - Decided to go with  my gut and just reorder my Bodymedia Band once again! Well guess what came in the mail today? The Jawbone UP24! So I decided to open it and test it out. I should get my Bodymedia tomorrow. I am pretty sure I will still be returning the Jawbone (that was supposedly never shipped!) The app for food logging doesn't come close to my bodymedia for details and customization. And so far, I have a hard time getting the Jawbone to sync with my phone to update my steps when I want it to. It seems to do it when it feels ready, rather then when I want it too. Annoying! There are some nice features, but all in all I find entering my food to be very tedious and time consuming. I will give it another couple of days to see if I get the hang of it and to see how it compares in figuring my calorie burn to the bodymedia, but it's not looking good as of now for the Jawbone!

My Jawbone Tracker Was Never Shipped! ERRRR!

March 16, 2015 - Well my Jawbone UP24 was never shipped! So they gave me a complete refund. Now I just need to figure out if I still want to go with a Jawbone or not. I'm having second thoughts! :/

Missing My Armband! :(

March 14, 2015 - Boy do I miss my armband! :( I made my decision and went with the Jawbone UP24 which is the same manufacturer as my armband. I liked what I saw with the Up app. It's going to take some getting use to. I will try it for a week and if I don't like it I will buy another Bodymedia band as I can still get them on Amazon. I am hoping the App is similar to what I use for my Bodymedia. I've been using it so long I wanted something as detailed as Bodymedia. I am hopeful an...d have my fingers crossed! Change is always hard. But I know that having the band on my wrist instead of my arm will be easier on my skin.

My concern is none of the wrist bands will be quite as accurate as my Bodymedia in figuring my calorie burn. There is a new Jawbone UP3 coming out that will have similar technology to the Bodymedia band but the release of this new Jawbone wrist band has been delayed twice and won't be out for another month and a half and I can't wait that long!

So I thought I would try the Jawbone UP24 and if I like it enough and it can get me through, I will upgrade to the UP3 once it's been out awhile and the price goes down a bit. It will sell for $180 bucks. I got a refurbished UP24 on Amazon for $65. I had it expedited and should get it today! Can't wait, I feel naked without an activity tracker!

Learned To Ice Skate Today!!

March 13, 2015 - GAINING CONFIDENCE - One thing I have noticed with my weight loss is I've been a lot more willing to try new things. I tried ice skating for the first time today and loved it! I always had a fear of trying, but was determined to give it a try since Marcus (my son who is 5) was afraid to try with his class last week, but faced his fears and got on the ice. And he loved it! So I promised him I would try it.

I started out using two milk crates wire tied together, b...ut by the end of the hour, I was able to ice skate around the whole rink with only lightly touching the side wall once! No crates! It reminded me a lot of roller skating and I loved to do that as a kid. I think I finally found my winter sport. I had so much fun. I am going to invest in some ice skates and do it regularly next year! I will try to go a couple of times before the season ends this month. Too bad my band died as I will not know how many calories I burned. But I had fun and that is the important thing!

Down 6 Pounds Woohoo!!

March 13, 2015 - Wow, so excited this morning!! I dropped 6 pounds this week! I am just .6 pounds from my lowest weight! I wasn't sure if I could pull off getting to 179.9 by April 3rd, but with this great drop, I think I can get there. It was definitely what I was hoping for!
Had a great fast day yesterday, too! Best in several weeks! Yay! Now I just got to keep going!

My Bodymedia Band Died Today!

March 13, 2015 - Well I'm bummed! My Bodymedia band just died! I can't get it to turn on or sink on my computer to charge!  I can't recall when I bought this one, but I don't think it's been more then a year.

I guess it's time to start researching wrist style bands. Maybe I will wear a pedometer this week to keep track of steps at minimum!

Sorry For Being MIA

I have been super busy at the store for the Easter season for the last month. So I am going to catch up on posts today. Sorry for my absence!
