Day 54 - Not A Great Day

I had the nibbles something awful today! Which is bad in my line of work! I had way to much chocolate and wasn't motivated to excercise either. I guess we all have days like this.

Tomorrow I have a ton of house cleaning to do. So that will burn some calories! I will do my best to end this week on a positive note!

I ate over 2300 calories today and will burn about the same.

Better luck tomorrow I hope!

Day 53 - What A Toot! ;)

It seemed no matter how hard I tried today, I couldn't get enough done! I had chocolate to make, paperwork to get done for my tax appointment on Tuesday and I have to eat right and exercise! Sometimes it's too much at once! I feel worn out just talking about it!

I did manage to get a little chocolate made and some paper work done today. So I didn't leave work totally feeling like I got nothing done. When I got home I made some dinner. Breakfast for dinner. :) Then sat down and was very unmotivated to exercise. But then I told myself to get up and get goin'. So I did!

But I had several issues with my favorite Zumba DVD. It kept freezing on me. Because I had to keep stopping my exercise, I only got 11 minutes of vigorous activity rather them my 25 minutes. But I did burn some calories, so I can't complain. It just felt like nothing went well today! Ugh! Hopefully I will have better luck with my DVD tomorrow. It is my favorite of all the Zumba DVD's I have!

On a rather hilarious note, those wonderful beans I ate gave me horrible gas! Thank goodness I was doing my Zumba DVD in my home as I was tooting to the beat of the music. LOL! My daughter was exercising with me. Luckily for her the music was loud enough and she didn't notice! Hee Hee! Hopefully after I have eatin' the beans for a couple of days my body will adjust. If not, I will be glad I'm not taking a class in public! :P

I did eat just under 1600 calories and estimate I will burn just under 3000. So not too far off from my goals. I guess I should be thankful, I could have had it much worse! Positive thoughts, right!

Day 52 - Let's Get Cookin'!

I had a great day once again yesterday! I burned over 3000 calories and managed to get my Zumba in first thing in the morning. I tried a new DVD I purchased and it was longer and harder. I was lost several times during the DVD, but that is to be expected when doing these things the first few times. Glad I was in the comfort of my own home rather then having many eyeballs watching. LOL!

I was in the cooking mood last night and made two dishes from my new Pioneer Woman Cookbooks! I made Zesty Lime Rice and Fiesta Black Beans! Burned some calories while I cooked, too! Never under estimate how you can get in those extra calorie burns! LOL!

The rice and beans came out great and I brought them in today for lunch! Yum!

I Almost Forgot - I weighed in today!!

I couldn't help myself today and hopped on the scale this morning. I was hopeful my hard work the last couple of days would help the number on the scale. I was up 3.1 pounds which is great!! I am usually up between 7 to 10 pounds after vacation. I am confident that the 3 pounds will come off quickly!

At this point you won't hear about my weight until I drop the 3 pounds and more. These 3 pounds won't even get logged into the computer. My next log will be my continued weight loss from where I left off before vacation!

Now to continue my great week!

Day 51 - Shopping, Baked Ziti & More!

I had a nice day off today. Finally recouping from our vacation! I ran a few errands today. Which included getting my haircut, going to TJ Maxx to browse without the kids and grocery shopping.

I filled the fridge with lots of fresh produce and herbs today, including, apple's, bananas, oranges, strawberries, tomatoes, spring mix, spinach, cilantro, parsley, garlic, cucumber, peppers, carrots and onions!

So our fridge is now full with lots of great nutritious food!

I now have all 3 of the Pioneer Woman's cookbooks. I made her baked Ziti tonight for dinner. It's not in her cookbooks but was on her show on Food Network. Here is the link:

PW Baked Ziti Recipe

It was very good. I used turkey Italian sausage in our version. About 560 calories per serving for a 12th of a pan. You need a deep dish 9x13 pan as this makes A LOT! This is not low in fat. Lol! But a nice dish every once and awhile.

I hope to try her Mexican Rice recipe this week and her Fiesta Black Beans. They sound so good! A bit healthier, too!

I ultimately ended up eating under 1700 calories and will burn close to 2900 calories. Not bad for cheat day. No Zumba as it is my day off. ;)

Day 50 - Finally Getting Into An Excercise Routine!

I had a second great day! I estimate I will burn over 3000 calories today and I ate just under 1500! So I've reached both my goals! My daughter and I did the Zumba DVD once again and even my son joined in for the first 15 minutes! LOL!

I'm feeling very positive about this week and I am proud of myself for getting right back on track and not lagging! I have been known to take several days to get back on track after returning from vacation. So the fact I have been doing so well tells me that I am ready to finally get under 200 pounds and stay there!

Sometimes it is such a slow process, but I've learned to take it in stride and appreciate every loss no matter how small. I may only lose a pound a week, but that adds up over time. Even at a pound a week, I should be under 200 pounds by summer! Yay!! :)

Week 8 Begins & Week 7 Report!

Attached is my week 7 report and I think I did a great job keeping my calories in check. I worked hard yesterday to help get my surplus down as much as I could. I averaged a 41 calorie surplus last week! Woohoo! That was awesome considering I had a few pig out days! LOL!

Week 7 Bodymedia Summary Report

Of course, that is give or take a few calories as we do the best we can to figure out what we ate. Especially with restaurants that don't provide nutritional info. But I do think that after a week or two I should show no weight gain or a small loss.

I always find when I go on vacation I go up anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds depending on how I eat. Part of that is the travel & water retention. I usually drop most of it the first week I return. So I may do a weigh in about 2 weeks from now to see where I am. I will cross my fingers for a loss!

I hope to continue my Zumba all this week and keep my calories in check. I really would like to see me have a 1500 calorie deficit average this week. Which means I have to burn 3000 calories a day! If I can meet that goal, maybe I will weigh in next Monday! ;)

Here's to a great week!

End Of Week 7 - It's all good!

I had a great day today! I ate light to finish the week off on a positive note. I have an hour and 23 minutes of activity today. 29 minutes being vigorous activity and 54 minutes being moderate activity. I did my Zumba DVD this morning! I new I wanted to try to hit 3000 calories burned today so while at work this afternoon I did 60 walking laps around the store which equaled 20 minutes of walking.

So a fantastic day. I estimate I will have burned 3000 calories by days end. I will be anxious to run my week report tomorrow and see my end results. I know I will have a daily average surplus, rather then a deficit this week, but I'm hoping the hard work I did today will minimize the possible weight gain for the week. Stay tuned....

Week 6 Report

I thought I would post my Week 6 report. This was the week ending Sunday Feb. 16th. I thought I did pretty well considering 2 of those days were vacation days. I still managed over a 600 calorie deficit per day that week. My fat was a bit high, but not too shabby for not watching my fat content for 2 days!

I will post week 7 tomorrow!

Week 6 Bodymedia Summary Report

It's Time To Zuuummbaaaa!

So I woke up this morning very motivated to not let my vacation sabotage what I have worked so hard for. I came, I enjoyed, I ate! Now it's time to get back on track and kick some butt! How do I do that? With Zumba! I love it and find it so much fun. It's the funnest work out video I have ever done! Although I have been struggling to get motivated and start my exercise, I certainly found that motivation today!

There are not too many activities that I do to register vigorous activity on my armband. Running is just about the only thing I have found that will do it and small parts of some work outs I have done in the past. The thing that impresses me most about my Zumba video is how much vigorous activity I get and I'm still having fun!

I do a 45 minute workout and 29 minutes of that workout this morning was vigorous activity! Woohoo! I haven't done my Zumba CD's in quite a few months. Since early last year, I want to say, and I was rather impressed how much I retained and it all came back to me rather quickly. Morgan joined me this morning, too! We both had fun getting our Zumba on! ;)

Since I promised to share all, I have a photo of me below in my Zumba gear along with a nice shot of Morgan, too! We did it this morning and that is why she looks like she just woke up. LOL!

One of the reasons I have put off doing my Zumba videos this year is because it is not easy to do on thick carpet and our living room has brand new very thick carpet in it now. And it is the only room that has a tv that I can do it in as I need room to move around. So my excuse has been "We need to get a tv in the other room so I can do Zumba." I just told myself yesterday, "No more excuses, I got to get started!" So I took an older pair of sneakers and put tape around them in hopes that my feet would slide better, on the carpet, and it worked great! No more excuses! ;)

Maine Trip Day 8 - So I Indulged A Little! ;)

We had an interesting day yesterday! We started the day, ready to leave, only to get stuck in the driveway! A neighbor beat the tow truck and pulled us out. We got a late start because of it, but still had a wonderful day! We ate up cereal and toast for breakfast in an attempt to lug less with us. Then we enjoyed left over pizza as a snack once on our way.

We headed to Manchester, NH to enjoy the mall for a couple of hours to break up our trip. We stopped about 30 minutes early and found a great Mexican restaurant called Margarita's. The décor was just beautiful! It had a pleasant atmosphere and great food. I enjoyed a sampler which included a small burrito, taco and enchilada. So yummy!

We hung out at the mall and did a little shopping and then headed home only to get a call about 6:15pm that one of my birds got out of their cage. After several attempts to get her back in her cage I told our babysitter to just leave her in the bird room, shut out the lights and close the doors. I was confident that she would be fine and we would be home by 9pm.

We made a quick stop in West Lebanon and my hubby picked Five Guys to have dinner. What we forgot, since we don't eat there very often for obvious reasons, that a regular burger is two ginormous patties! Needless to say, I finished it, because anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE cheeseburgers! Didn't eat too many fries as I was stuffed from the massive burger! LOL!

So we ended our vacation with a nice greasy burger. What could be better then that? LOL! Now to work it off the rest of this week!

Oh, and Coqui (my bird) was fine and very glad to see me when I got home. She even left the bird room intact! ;)

Maine Trip Day 7 - Just Relax & Enjoy!

I took a relaxed approach to my day today and didn't worry about calories or excercise! It is my final days of my vacation and I plan to enjoy the rest of my stay to the fullest!

I went sledding with the kids and trekked up the hill 4 times! We enjoyed that great Mexican restaurant for lunch today and relaxed and enjoyed pizza at the cabin with a nice fire in the fireplace.

My daughter ordered a terrific churro dessert at lunch that we all shared. My birds were not forgotten. We went to the bird rescue/shop and got them each a toy to enjoy when we get home.

All in all it was a great relaxing day! I managed to stay under 3000 calories today! ;)

Maine Trip Day 6 - Enjoyed, But No Pig Out!

I enjoyed the day and managed to have 2200 calories yesterday. Better then I had been doing, but not as good as I would have liked. I had a small deficit for the day, about 300 calories.

The good news is, my band is synching to my phone again. The bad news is snow shoeing isn't burning as many calories as I thought it would!

I do know that some activities don't register well with the armband. Like our excercise bike at home. Unless we move our arms, we get no moderate activity on the arm band. So who knows!

We hope to visit a parrot rescue today. They have a nice shop so I will get some goodies for our birds.

We will also go sledding again, too! Here is to another fun day!

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Maine Trip Day 5 - I Enjoyed, I Piged Out, I'm So Done!

I had a whopping 3700 calories today! Between Friendly's lunch & ice cream, cupcakes at my sister in-laws in celebration of Marcus' birthday and KFC for dinner, I am so done! I had 2800 yesterday which wasn't too bad, but 3700 was way more then I planned for today.

Oh, I had soda again today, too! Come Sunday, back to water only!

I will be honest, I am feeling blah after all that! But it made me realize that I want to get back on track tomorrow! I would like to see myself finish the week with a deficit, no matter how small, but a deficit none the less!!

So that is my challenge for the rest of this week. I can do this! I will thank myself when I have another decent loss 3 weeks from now. :)

Onward I shall go tomorrow.....

Maine Trip Day 4 - We Eat With Our Eyes

One of the things I love about cooking with peppers is how colorful they are! We enjoyed Italian turkey sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions last night for dinner. So good and so easy to make.

We had left over lasagna for lunch and cereal for breakfast. With a few snacks in between. My battery on my armband died. I am going to see if I can get a wall adapter for it today!

We had a great time snow shoeing yesterday and only went into town briefly to get more fire wood. We relaxed and played games at the cabin most of the afternoon and evening.

Out On The Snow Shoes - Now we are burning some calories!

We went out on the lake for 2 hours today snow shoeing! What a work out! Unfortunately, I don't know how much of a workout because my armband data is not pairing to my phone! So I may have to wait until I return home to find out. We had a great time, but coming up and down the hill to the house and back to get to the lake was treacherous!

Now I'm warming up by the fire. :)

Maine Trip Day 3 - Dinner & Lasagna Recipe!

We enjoyed my homemade lasagna and garlic bread for dinner. Just 330 calories per serving for the lasagna and 160 calories for the bread.

I had 3200 calories again yesterday. But I have decided not to worry about it and just enjoy our vacation. I will still track what I eat so I have a better sense of my weight loss progress when I go home. So if I only drop a pound in 3 weeks. I will know why!

I had,a soda yesterday and won't plan on another until the end of the week!

Here is the lasagna recipe.

20 oz package Shady Brook extra lean ground turkey
1 jar Ragu Traditional Pasta Sauce
1 medium onion
15 Lasagna noodles
8 oz bag shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz bag shredded mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 359. Cook lasagna noodles as directed on package. When done set aside.

Meanwhile, chop up onions and saute then add turkey and brown. Once turkey is brown add sauce and stir together. Set aside.

Grease a 9x13 pan. Add a thin layer of sauce to the bottom of the pan. Now layer 3 noodles side by side then another layer of sauce. Top with cheddar then mozzarella. Sprinkle with parmesan. Repeat - noodles, sauce, cheese, parmesan. Repeat until all noodles are used.

Cover with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven until bubbly. About 45 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes.

So easy, but so good! Even my picky 4 year old loves it. Makes 12 servings. 330 calories per serving.

Maine Trip Day 3 - Lunch - Chicken & Shrimp Tequila Tango

I had an awesome lunch today at Applebees. It was the Chicken & Shrimp Tequila Tango. It had a creamy lime avocado sauce on it. Worth all 870 calories! I'll just say OMG, so dam good! Hee hee!

Maine Trip Day 3 - Breakfast & Dinner Prep

I had a date with the frog again this morning and enjoyed some Honey Smacks again for breakfast.

I also prepped our dinner for tonight in case we get back late again! Homemade lasagna and garlic bread is on the menu tonight!

I made the lasagna this morning ahead of time and will put it in the oven tonight when we get back from exploring. Headed to Auburn, ME today, I think!

Maine Trip - Day 2 Lunch & Dinner

I'm finding with being on this trip with the kids, I remember less to take photos before I eat!

We found a Mexican restaurant in town that was awesome! I had a steak burrito that was HUGE!!

We headed to the Maine Mall where the kids had a great time at Build A Bear. We enjoyed a TCBY frozen yogurt.

I was going to cook dinner, but it was getting late so we ended up at KFC. And then topped the evening off with chocolate cake for my sons birthday.

I went way over my calories for the day at 3250!! BUT we are having a great time. I burned 2850 calories yesterday! So that gives me a 400 calorie surplus. I hope to stick with a deficit most of the week even if small so I don't gain weight!

My Valentine's Day Present

I asked Brad (my hubby) for cookbooks for Valentine's Day. I have fallen in love with the Food Network show, the Pioneer Woman. Her recipes have love and family written all over them! She is a long time blogger, too! I will look up the link to her blog and post the link later.

These cookbooks are awesome with lots of photos! Step by step photos. I don't like a cookbook unless every recipe has a photo! I have to see how good it looks before I try it!

I'm a firm believer that you can take many favorite recipes and make them healthier. Take my comfort foods totally away and I'm not a happy girl, cause I just love food! ;)

Maine Trip - Day 2 Breakfast

I started my day with a nice bowl of good old Honey Smacks! Picked out especially by my 7 year old! Lol!

Maine Trip - Day 1

I had a fairly good day considering we are celebrating my sons 4th Birthday today!

I had a banana for early breakfast and a sausage mcmuffin a bit later. I had 4 bit o honeys for a snack. Then enjoyed pizza & salad at Chuck E Cheese for lunch. For dinner we went to Friendlys and I had my favorite, a cheeseburger & fries. My hubby chose the spinach salad but indulged on an ice cream for dessert, which I passed on. ;) I had about 2700 calories today. I will burn about that much today.

Down 2.5 More Pounds!!

It's been about 2 &1/2 weeks since my last weigh in and I'm down 2.5 lbs bringing my total to 10.8 lbs! I am very happy with that! :)

My hard work during my casino trip payed off. Now I've got to focus on staying on track while allowing myself to enjoy myself on this trip. Stay tuned....

Friday, February 14, 2014

Day 40 - Happy Valentine's Day!

I did much better in the chocolate department today! Still had 2200 calories today. Enjoyed that nice steak dinner at Storm Cafe. I still think I will end up with a 600 calorie deficit. It was worth it to enjoy a nice dinner with my hubby. After all, Valentine's Day only comes once a year.

Weigh in tomorrow!

Day 39 - Confessions Of A Candy Store Owner!

So by that title, you should be able to gather I did not have a good day. A majority of my calories came from chocolate. A very busy and hectic day, I started the day early with chocolate as my fuel to get through the day.

I started my day with a banana. Ok, that was good. Then I needed to check my fudge. Instead of a bite I had 2oz! A little while later, I couldn't say no to a walnut turtle bite! Then as I was working on jumbo turtles, I had about a 1/4 cup of nuts. At least there are some health benefits with that choice!

Lunch time came around and I had two boiled eggs. Protein is goood. But I continue to head down hill. Now it's time for some chocolate nut fudge. Ended up with 2.5 oz of that. I know it's getting ugly, isn't it! Time for another quality check of a cherry cream. I managed to test just one. My will power didn't go totally out the window.

Ok, I take that back, maybe it did. For dinner I had my daughters left over Alfredo and topped the evening off with cheez it chipotle cheese zingz!

I managed to have eatin' just under 2000 calories and estimate I will burn about 2900 calories today.

Oh lordy, I certainly hope tomorrow is a better day! I can't let the busy pace get me back into bad habits! I CAN do this!  Hubby and I are going out for Valentine's dinner tomorrow night. I'm thinking a nice lean steak may be in order! ;)

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Day 38 - Very Busy Day!

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, we are getting busier & busier at work. I estimate I will burn 3000 calories today and I ate just over 1300!

With my weigh in coming up on Saturday, I am determined to have a good week. Part of my calorie burn today was from packing for our trip. I am glad the brunt of that is done, because I know we will be busy the next two days. Hopefully this big snow storm will not effect us at the shop, as it appears most of the snow will occur during the evening hours! Fingers crossed!

Forget About The Scale. It's All About The Size!

Last year when I got down to 208 pounds I managed to fit into one pair of size 14 jeans. Well, I tried on all the jeans I wore last year before my weight started to creep back up and the good news is, I fit into all of them! Including those size 14 jeans! I am wearing them with pride today! Woohoo!

I feel so good to be back in these jeans. It gives me the motivation I need to keep going. Time to start looking for some size 12 jeans for my next goal! ;) And remember, this is coming from a woman who was wearing a size 28 at some points in her life! Guess who is doing the happy dance now! LOL!

Day 37 - Candy, Pizza, Mixers & More!

I had quite the busy day today! Normally I am closed on Tuesday but because Valentine's Day is on Friday, the shop was open. I worked all day at the shop and was busy making lots of chocolates! I quickly took Coqui (my B&G macaw) home after work, drove up to American Flatbread and met my kids and hubby for a quick dinner, then attended a WBON mixer at the Courtyard Marriot in Middlebury! Phew! A lot in one day, but it was all good!

I had way too much chocolate today! It was one of those nibble kind of days. But it was also my cheat day, so I will move on and try harder tomorrow. I had a good dinner at American Flatbread and enjoyed a few treats at the mixer. At the mixer I had 2 wings, 2 small slices of cheese, 2 crackers and a small quesadilla wedge. I had just over 1900 calories today. Not too bad for having a challenging day!

I'm hoping the nibbles wont' find me tomorrow! ;)

Week 6 - Staying On Track & Week 5 Report

I am now starting my 6th week of my weight loss journey. So far so good! This week should be pretty uneventful until I go on vacation on Saturday. I also have a business mixer to attend tomorrow night and hope to grab a bite to eat before I attend, as not to nibble on too much things I shouldn't be. It's all about planning ahead for me these days!

Below is a link to see my week in review for week 5. I did rather awesome, if I may say so myself! My average calorie burn deficit per day was 1050 calories and my fat was at 28%! The best I've done since I started this journey! Woohoo!

Week 5 Bodymedia Summary

I am looking forward to my weigh in on Saturday. I am hopeful for a decent loss, but will be happy as long as I'm going down and not up! Staying positive and not worrying about the numbers on a weekly basis has really helped me stay focused on the task at hand. I really feel in my heart that I will be under 200lbs before I know it! ;)

Day 35 - A Good End To The Week

Even though I had some trouble staying within my calorie goals in the beginning of the week, I was able to get back on track and have a good week. Today I had just over 1500 calories.

I leave this coming Saturday for our week long family vacation. I will have many challenges I will have to face, but I am hopeful that I can get through the week like I got through my 2 day trip with my Mom.

The trip to the casino was a great practice run! I haven't quite figured out what I want my calories to be quite yet. What I may try to do as my goal is have a 500 calorie deficit per day. So if I do the work and exercise, I can enjoy my trip as long as I am mindful of what goes in my mouth and how much! I am so looking forward to getting away with the family. We take only 1 week long vacation a year. So I can't wait!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we are getting very busy at our shop. Hopefully I will be burning extra calories as I run around making chocolate & taking care of customers. So I am very hopeful that I am in for a good week! I will weigh in again on Saturday morning before we leave for vacation.

Here's to a good week! ;)

Day 34 - Moving Right Along

Had another good day of eating today and got some excercise in with my housework.

I had a delicious Italian sausage sandwich for dinner tonight. If you haven't had them, I highly recommend Shady Brook Farms Turkey Italian Sausages. They are delicious and one cooked link is only 140 calories. What a treat that was! My hubby did a great job cooking the sauteed onions & red peppers and the sausages. :) Thank you Bradley!

Day 33 - Much Better!

I ate much better today. Had 1100 calories today. I know it's low, but I've been eating above my calorie goal most of the week!

I hope to finish the week strong! I still didn't get to exercising today! :/

I had a major issue with my accounting software at work and spent the entire day fixing it! Ugh!

Try again tomorrow!

Thursday, February 6, 2014

Day 32 - It's A 1700 Calorie Kind Of Week

I can't seem to get away from 1700 calories this week! I really need to try a bit harder or my average calorie deficit will not be even close to my goal this week! I had just above 1700 calories today.

I also have been having difficulty fitting excercise in my routine. Sometimes I don't do enough at work to get my moderate activity goal. I REALLY need to come up with a excercise!

1700 calories a day isn't horrible, but I need to move more if I keep this up!

Took the kids out to dinner tonight. I had an awesome French dip! Yummy!

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

Day 31 - A Better Day Of Eating!

I did much better today with my eating. I had just under 1300 calories today. I'm hoping if I can finish the week strong, my deficit goal will be met.

I really need to try to get some excercise in. I've been not feeling well the last few days, hopefully I can get back to walking soon!

We Teach Our Kids By Example

Every week I take the kids to McDonald's on Saturday for helping me clean up and cleaning their rooms.

I was very proud of Morgan as she chose the Southwest Salad just like I did. She always begged me to give her bites of mine, so I was glad she gave it a try!

Even Marcus went with the chicken wrap in his happy meal! They are putting applesauce in the happy meals right now as a free extra. He ate evey bite!

Week 4 Report

I almost forgot about my week 4 report! I am actually quite proud of the results. Even with my 2 days on my trip, My average per day calorie deficit was just under my goal! That is great news! Even my fat content was not through the roof! I think I did very well.

Week 4 - Weekly Summary Report

If you haven't checked out any of my reports, they are really quite interesting. It gives a nice summary of how I did all week. This report is based on the activity I burn that is recorded on my band and the food I enter online that I eat everyday. So you are seeing EVERYHING I do. I said I wanted to be accountable for my actions, so that I why I share this report with everyone on my blog every week!

Day 30 - I Just Love Food!

Well I had another 1700 calories today, but I finally finished up the enchiladas, rice and beans my sister cooked. So no more of that tempting delight to tempt me!

I made Sausage & Pepper Penne pasta for dinner tonight and garlic bread. The whole family loved it!

Here is what is in it:

Lean Turkey Italian Sausage Links
Red Pepper (you can use green & yellow, too!)
Medium Onion
2 Garlic Cloves
1 Jar Ragu Light Tomato & Herb  Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese As Garnish (Optional)

One serving was under 600 calories. Without the cheese under 500 calories per serving.

Day 29 - My Sister

My sister Regina left today to head back to Groton, NY where my sister Athena lives. She will head home to Washington state on Wednesday, if weather permits.

She came to surprise my mom for her 76th birthday. See there pic below. I am proud of my sister as she has lost 18 lbs! Great job Regina! ;)

I did fairly well, but my calories were a bit high at just above 1700 calories! I will try harder tomorrow! ;)

Day 28 - Birthday Cake, Ice Cream & Enchiladas Oh My!

I woke up this morning still not feeling all that great! My sister from Washington state has been visiting since Friday and planned this nice dinner of Enchiladas, Spanish Rice & Refried Beans. Then she made this beautiful cake for my mom. She is a pastry chef by trade and does wonderful cakes. So we had a nice dinner, cake and ice cream. I still managed to stay under 1500 calories with my best estimates. I am feeling better tonight, thank goodness! Here is a pic of the cake!

Day 27 - Birthday Dinners & More

I did pretty well yesterday considering a few factors. I started not feeling well yesterday afternoon. But we had plans to take my mom out to dinner for her 76th Birthday which was actually today. We went to Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse and with that I managed to have about 1600 calories! I think I did pretty well, but continued to not feel well. Went to bed and slept until 10am!
