Doing Well After Vacation!

02/29/2020 - I got pretty wrapped up in vacation and didn't have a chance to hop on and post. I allowed myself some days to just enjoy some of my favorite things while on vacation. I had 2 days where I had around 3000 calories rather then my goal of 2500. But I tracked everyday no matter what. I am proud of how I did and feel like I did really well!

I came home with a 7 pound weight gain on Sunday morning. I wasn't surprised, because I always go up on vacation. No matter what.


It took me a few days to get 100% back in the groove once I got back. But I did well and am down 5.8 pounds from Sunday, which is great news!!

Maine Vacation Day 3-5

2/19/20 - I have been doing pretty well while on vacation when sticking to my under 2500 calories or less! The low carb part has been a bit more challenging. I have enjoyed some treats so that has brought my carbs way up. But keeping under 2500 has been a bit easier. I only went over once since I have started my vacation.

Here are my numbers.

Monday Burned 2655 calories and walked 8382 steps! Ate 2209 calories with Net Carbs Of 214!

Tuesday Burned 2390 calories and walked 5141 steps! Ate 2596 calories with Net Carbs Of 274!

Wednesday Burned 2689 calories (so far) and walked 11702 (so far) Ate 2098 calories with Net Carbs Of 145!

Even though I kind of blew it with the carbs I am happy with my calorie intake each day and not exceeding the 2500 calories all but one day. I hope to finish off the rest of the week the same way!

Maine Vacation Day 2

2/16/20 - I had a great second day of vacation! Relaxed most of the day. Did some Legos, went for a drive by myself, listened to some music in the car nice and loud and then went to the grocery store. Didn't get a whole lot of exercise in, but I did move some.

I had 1825 calories and 92 net carbs today! So far I am feeling good with my progress!

Maine Vacation Day 1

2/15/20 - Left for vacation this morning and have done pretty good. It's my son's 10th birthday so I splurged on carbs today. My goal is to have no more then 2500 calories per day while on vacation. I was at 2537 today. So not too bad. Net carbs were 227.1. I told Marcus I would take a break from low carbs today to enjoy his birthday. I enjoyed some fried rice at Koto's Japanese Steakhouse. Marcus's birthday request. And of course, I enjoyed some cake and ice cream tonight!

Tomorrow, back to watching my carbs and making sure I stay under 2500 calories per day while I'm on vacation! I did great on my first day of vacation for exercise and hit over 10,000 steps today!

02/15/20 - Weighed in at 245.4 this morning. Same as last Saturday. But at least I'm not up!

On The Road To Success!

02/12/20 - Not much to report over the last few days! I started my period on Monday so I have been avoiding the scale until the bloating passes. I ate pretty well over the past few days.

Sunday 1703 calories & 81.2 Net Carbs
Monday 1374 calories & 93.2 Net Carbs
Tuesday 2191 calories & 102.9 Net Carbs

I exercised on Monday at TKD. I had a date day with my husband yesterday so my calories were a bit on the high side and I didn't quite make the under 100 carbs that day but wasn't too terribly over either. Also, got home late and didn't get in any exercise. But I will be sure to do some tonight!

Vacation- What I did yesterday is where I would like to be everyday on vacation. But the goal would be to keep those carbs under 100 grams a day. I would like my calories to not exceed 2500 per day. I leave on Saturday and return the following Saturday. I will be sure to check in daily with my progress!

I feel like I am on a good path for success!

Back Down To 245.4!!

02/09/20 - I was pleased to hop on the scale this morning and be back to 245.4!! I was at this weight on January 13th and then the scale kept going up and down after that and I began to think I would never get back to this point! My low carb high protein diet with the extra exercise seems to be doing the trick! Yay!!!

Saturday Weigh In - 245.8! Woohoo!!



02/08/20 - I was pretty busy yesterday and totally forgot to post. Had a good couple of days. Ate well all week and I stayed positive! I weighed in this morning for my Saturday Facebook group weigh in at 245.8! I was so excited to see that number! My lowest when I started and then my body decided to play tricks on me was 245.4. I'm not really sure what was up over that almost 3 week time frame. But clearly after about a week and a half the low fat diet wasn't working for me anymore. It helped me drop some water weight but that was about it.

I did increase my exercise, but honestly, I think eating under 100 carbs a day is playing a big part in my success! I think both things are helping me move forward and drop weight. I am hopeful that I will continue to go down going forward!

It's Time To Zumba In Our New Workout Clothes

02/06/20 - As promised! Here is our new workout clothes we found last night while shopping! Now we are ready to Zuuuummmbaaaa!



So this was our most challenging workout yet but not for reasons you may think. I run a motel and I was interrupted by half a dozen calls while trying to do our Zumba video. Then I got a call about my kids school closing due to snow! Geez! The first half of the video was interrupted constantly. But thankfully the calls quieted down and we finished the video. LOL! Here we are,  relieved that we finally finished it!


But it was a good workout. Got an hour of activity! The DVD we did tonight was a Zumba concert and lasted an hour! So far I am having a good week of exercise!


Taco Salad! Yum!

02/06/20 - I had a delicious taco salad for dinner tonight!  It was very filling and was my alternative to tacos/burritos, which is what we had for dinner tonight.

Ingredients:
~ 3 oz Of Cooked 91% Lean Ground Beef Simmered In Taco Seasoning
~ 2 Cups Spring Mix
~ Handful Of Shredded Carrots
~ 1 Roma Tomato Chopped
~ 4 to 6 Slices Of Cucumber
~ Several Slices Red Or Orange Pepper
~ 1/4 Cup Of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
~ 1/2 Cup Black Beans
~ 2 TBSP Salsa
~ 2 TBSP Sour Cream





Down I Go!

02/06/20 - Decided to hop on the scale this morning. I was feeling it and I guess I was right! I am down to 246.6! This is awesome news! I am so close to getting back to 245.4! Woohoo!! I really feel the changes I made last week are working!

I had a good day yesterday. I had 1540 calories and my net carbs were 84. I had my normal lunch and breakfast but went to dinner with my daughter last night. I had a french dip sandwich with no bread with a baked potato. So good!

We also went shopping last night for new clothes to exercise in. I can't seem to find any of my exercise pants! I will share once we do our first work out in them which will hopefully be tonight! My daughter and I did a mother/daughter night last night so no exercise except some shopping! ;)

One Month Already!

02/05/20 - I realized today that I have been on this journey for one month so far. I started on 1/2/20. Ok, 1 month and 3 days! LOL! I just realized this morning it has been a month!  I am down 10 pounds since I started! Not bad with all the issues I had over 3 weeks! Here's hoping for another good month that goes a little smoother!

A Decent Day Yesterday!

2/5/20 - I spent most of my day driving yesterday. Had to help my husband pick up a couple of trucks he bought used at an auction. My calories were higher then I would have liked. Just over 2000 calories. But my net carbs were still under 100 at 89.3! So that was good!

I have refrained from weighing myself this morning. Just wasn't feeling it so I took caution and held off like I told myself I would. I enjoyed a Moe's salad for lunch yesterday but did indulge myself with some of their chips and salsa! Yum! It was worth it as I stayed under my 100 gram carb goal!

I also did a 30 minute Walk, March & Dance Workout with Paul Eugene. I found it on Amazon free! The instructor was an interesting character, but it was something different and got Morgan and I moving!

Another Successful Day!

02/04/20 - I had a good day yesterday. My eating was right on track! I ate 1521 calories and had 83.7 Net Carbs! I did weigh in this morning and saved a photo. I am at 248.4. I am very happy with that! I feel like I am back to normal fluctuations and am confident I will keep moving in the right direction from here. I have been feeling physically better. So my willingness to hop on the scale and not worry about the results so much has been easier. I think I had some stomach issues over the last couple of weeks as I was feeling bloated a lot.

I did skip yesterday on the scale and will take each day at a time. Yes, I am weighing in more then I had planned, but it's all good as long as I don't get too emotional over the results.

I went to TKD and got my exercise in last night for the day! So all in all a good day!

Super Bowl Sunday!

02/03/20 - Super Bowl Sunday is like a holiday in the US! We gather, we eat and we watch the game! My home team was playing against the Chiefs last night so I was going to watch no matter what! Yes, I ate but I think I did pretty well.

I had buffalo chicken wings and 2 servings of Ranch Doritos as a treat. My net carbs were 92.8 and I had just under 2000 calories! I had the wings and Doritos and nothing else. I was good about not snacking last night and I'm proud of myself.

The bad news is the 49ers lost. But it was a good game and I'm glad they made it to the Super Bowl. They have been doing better over the last few years. Haven't won a Super Bowl in 25 years but let's hope the time will come again soon.

All in all, it was a good day!

02/02/20 - This has become my favorite lunch and keeps me full throughout the afternoon. It also provides lots of protein and natural fiber! Net carbs are only 2.8! Another bonus!

Feeling Better & Moving On

02/02/20 - On January 13 I weighed in at 245.4 and my weight has been up and down since then and not in a positive way. I have stuck to the plan I was on from January 02. So these last 3 weeks have been challenging to say the least as I have gone weigh up and have not returned to that number and have been as high as 253.5 during the last 3 weeks and getting down to 249.2 finally yesterday! But I'm feeling better and moving on from it.

I was feeling really good this morning so I did hop on the scale and I was 247.?. I didn't sink my phone or write it down as it was an unofficial weigh in so I don't remember what the full number was. I think 247.4. LOL!

I know I said I wasn't going to weigh in everyday and I will stick to that plan. But I felt good, wasn't bloated and just felt confident about stepping on so I did. If anything this weigh in is giving me new hope that the changes I am making with more exercise and low carbs and high protein is working!

I did very well yesterday for being home all day! I had less then 1600 calories and under 100 carbs! I also did Zumba last night even though I really didn't want to. I was a couch potato yesterday and just relaxed and watched TV all day. I don't have too many days like that! But I knew after sitting all day I really needed to move. So even though I felt like a slug I got up and did it! I am very proud of that!

Fingers crossed these changes will help me continue to drop the weight!

Saturday Weigh In

2/1/20 - I decided to stick to my Saturday weigh in with my Facebook group. I was down .06 from last Saturday so that is good news!

I exercised 4 times this week with Zumba and helped a friend deep clean for 6 hours on Monday. So I a did great with exercise this week. My knee and hip are bugging me a bit but I'm hoping with the continued exercise that will improve. I hurt my knee and fell ice skating and then injured the back of my knee at TKD a week ago during sparring. I think my hip could be from Zumba, so I will make sure I stretch well and try to work through this.

I did more then excellent on Thursday & Friday with my low carb diet. I have stayed under 100 grams of carbs per day and have made sure I am also getting plenty of protein and fiber in my diet. Eggs and avocados have been my daily lunch and has been a great source of natural fiber for me with the avocado. Dinners I have moderate carbs such as potatoes and veggies.

I am trying to find sources of fiber naturally and rely less on protein bars with high fiber. So I am researching my options and trying to eat less processed foods! I don't plan on giving up pasta but just having it in moderation. I am also trying to stay under 1500 calories a day. So far I have at least managed to stay under 1800. So I am getting there!
