It's been a really tough summer and fall. I tried getting back on track last May and ended up having a very stressful summer. My mom began to have hallucinations. So bad that I finally decided it was best for her to move closer to my sister who has the time to spend with her each and every day. She started to improve with some medication and the transition to moving to NY with my sister. But just before Thanksgiving she had a really bad week and ended up in the hospital and was finally diagnosed with vascular dementia. She is now recovering in nursing care and we hope that her new medications can help manage her dementia.
I would never wish anyone to have to witness someone they love start to lose their mental abilities. It's the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. So much so I ended up with irregular heart beats called PVC's just before the move. I think it was mainly from stress but I have also cut back on the caffeine with is an contributing factor. Now that my mom is settled and in a safe place I feel ready to get back on track.
I gained quite a bit of wait and was up to 230.4 pounds on November 11th. :( It's been tough. On top of everything else I think I may be pre-menopausal! When it rains it poors! I went to the doctors this week to confirm that. I do think that this may be why I'm having difficulty losing weight.
The good news is even after Thanksgiving I have been able to lose at least 1 pound a week. As of today, I am at 225.3 Yay! I've continually dropped since 11/11. This is the best I have done in awhile so I am hopeful this is a sign for things to come!
So that is why I have returned to my blog. I feel it is the right time and I am ready to start taking care of me once again! I will try my best to continue to post regularly!
